Wellbeing Ambassador Training

Train the People Who Help Others Before a Crisis Requires It

The COE Wellbeing Ambassador Training equips employees to recognize distress, hold supportive conversations, and connect colleagues to the right resources—without overstepping their role.

📅 November 10, 11 & 12, 2026 | 🕒 10 AM – 2 PM ET | 💻 Virtual & Interactive | 💳 $795.00

When things get tough, people do not reach for their benefits handbook.

They talk to a trusted colleague.

That colleague might be a peer on their team. A friend down the hall. Someone they trust enough to be honest with about what is actually happening—the stress that is not in the job description, the pressure that keeps them awake, the struggle that looks fine on the surface but feels unsustainable underneath.

In that moment, that colleague becomes the first line of support. Not HR. Not a manager. Not a policy. A human being they trust.

The question for organizations is simple: Are those trusted colleagues equipped to help? Or are they left improvising, unsure whether they are helping or making things worse, unclear about where their role ends and professional support begins?

This is where the Wellbeing Ambassador role lives. Not as a substitute for professional help. But as the bridge that gets someone from “I am struggling alone” to “I can reach out to someone who has been trained to listen, to understand, and to point me toward the right resources.”

What This Training Delivers
  • The confidence to recognize when a colleague is genuinely struggling—and the clarity to know what to do about it
  • Practical conversation skills that feel natural, not clinical
  • The boundaries to be helpful without becoming responsible for someone else’s wellbeing
  • Knowledge of your organization’s support systems—and how to navigate someone toward them
  • Strategies for protecting your own wellbeing so the ambassador role does not become a burden
  • IIRSM-accredited certification that validates your capability

In short: it turns the instinct to help into actual capability. It turns good intent into informed action.

Why This Matters for Organizations

Organizations invest heavily in benefits. EAP services. Mental health support. Wellness programs. And many employees still do not access them.

Why? Because when you are struggling, you do not start with a helpline. You start with someone you trust. And if that person does not know how to help, does not understand your organization’s support pathways, or does not feel equipped to have the conversation—then your benefits might as well not exist.

Wellbeing Ambassadors close that gap. They are the trusted voice that says: “You are not alone in this. Your organization has resources. Let me help you access them.” They turn the isolation that often precedes crisis into connection that prevents it.

What Participants Will Be Equipped to Do

Reduce Stigma Actively

Address mental health stigma and discrimination within the workplace—not as a bystander, but as a trained, credible voice.

Effectively guide colleagues to the right internal and external resources, including EAP, HR, and clinical support services.

Respond to Crisis Appropriately

Apply Psychological First Aid fundamentals and respond to acute situations in alignment with organizational protocols.
